Current Favorites

As I focus on being a lifestyle blog now, I will be starting off with the current stuff I'm totally loving right now.
September is the start of a new term, a new season (which is my favorite btw!), and a whole new living for me.

1. Body Shop's Vitamin E skin care collection (The basics)

At least these are the basics for me. Looking for the perfect face products for a dry-ish and sensitive skin is not easy at all. Ideally I would like to free my nose area from excessively dry skin by moisturizing it a lot but without oiling up the other parts of my face, I lived in Alberta before moving to BC so my skin gets arid as much as the prairies are arid on a hot summer day. Sometimes when it gets humid and hot, my face starts to get oily and I've virtually tried every face product out there to keep the oil out but it leaves my face dry or worse, getting a pimple or two as a reaction.
After my older sister introduced me to these products and having tested them for an entire week, I never went back to any other products. First off the facial cleanser feels like a subtle hydrating lotion on your hand but once you put it on your face, it's the most gentle facial cleanser you can possibly experience (and remember I've tried a lot of facial cleansers before), it won't leave you dry or oily but rather your skin feeling soft, even a lot softer than a Cetaphil wash! (Truth be told, I'm not sponsored at all). I like using either one of the creams after I wash my face since it adds moisture to my dry skin. The night cream adds softness to your already soft skin, it's heavier than the day cream since night time (sleeping time) is when you can heavily moisturize while the day cream is a lot lighter and it doesn't make your face feel sticky, in fact it seeps on your skin better that you can immediately put make-up on and you're ready to go!
What I've greatly noticed in using these products are it made my face look fairer and I never get pimples at all! Not even those odd bumps. Also, have I said my skin feels absolutely soft?

2. O5 Tea bar

I was once given a bad impression of Kombuchas by a friend so I never tried any before having one from O5 tea bar, and honestly when Ryan (my boyfriend) made me drink a glass of tap Kombucha, I fell inlove. As a tea-obsessed person, Kombucha is such a refreshing wonder! Now, I don't have any reference of what a bottled Kombucha tastes like but there's one sure thing, tap Kombucha from O5 tea bar is simply amazing! They have two taps, two different kinds. I believe they change their brews every week or once they finish one tap as I've observed (I refill my glass bottles every other day so trust me, I'm always in that place). What's best about their Kombucha is that it tastes really simple, really fresh, and light (at least most of them, depending on what you choose)- it's simply fermented tea and that's all that there is. Moreover, they have Kombucha classes on weekends so you can even learn how to make your own at home!
Also, it's a tea bar so you can just sit down with a couple of friends after a meal, talk, and have authentic tea! Really, it's my kind of heaven.

Cheers! Laarni xoxo
